19.2. General information

The transmission will transform a torque transferred from the engine, on size and the direction. It is necessary for ensuring optimum speed and passableness of the car, and also for the most economic operation of the engine and car movement by a backing. Besides, the transmission separates the engine and transmission during a stop and parking of the car and at its movement by inertia with working engine.

On cars are established 4-or 5-step transmissions. Details of a transmission are placed in a case which is screwed by bolts on a back part of the engine.

The torque from the engine through coupling is transferred to an entrance shaft of a transmission. The target shaft of a transmission transfers a torque via the driveshaft to reverse main gear. Gear wheels entrance and day off of shaft of a transmission are in continuous gearing with gear wheels of an intermediate shaft. Inclusion of transfer is carried out by moving of the sliding coupling of the synchronizer therefore the gear wheel rigidly incorporates to shaft.

Gear shifting is carried out by the lever established on a floor of the car and the mechanism of a choice of transfers.

The mechanism of a choice of transfers moves the corresponding fork which in turn moves the sliding coupling of the synchronizer therefore the gear wheel rigidly incorporates to a synchronizer nave. As the nave синхрониза a Torah is established on shlitsa of a target shaft, rigid connection of a nave with a gear wheel provides torque transfer from a gear wheel on a target shaft. The synchronizer consists of blocking rings, podpruzhinenny crackers, a nave and the sliding coupling.
