21.8. Driveshaft

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

At installation of the driveshaft it is necessary to use new nuts of fastening of forward and back parts of the driveshaft.


Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift a back part of the car and fix on supports.
2. Unscrew and remove the thermofilter of an exhaust system. If necessary, unscrew and remove the arms established across the tunnel of the driveshaft.
3. Establish under a transmission a jack and raise it so that the weight of the power unit was perceived by a jack.
4. Unscrew a nut, a fixing back part of an arm to a transmission and the bolts, fixing an arm to the bottom of a body and remove an arm (see fig. An arrangement of the nut, fixing a back part of an arm to a transmission and the bolts, fixing an arm to the body bottom).
5. Using a wrench, unscrew on two turns a nut of the shlitsevy coupling located about the central bearing. Thus be careful not to damage a rubber protective cover (see fig. Arrangement of a nut of the shlitsevy coupling of the driveshaft and bolts of fastening of the central bearing).
6. Put combination labels on the elastic coupling of the driveshaft and a target flange of a transmission. Then unscrew nuts and remove the bolts, fixing the elastic coupling to a target flange of a transmission. At installation it is necessary to use new nuts.
7. Put combination labels on the elastic coupling of the driveshaft and a flange of reverse main gear. Unscrew nuts and take the bolts, fixing the elastic coupling to reverse main gear. At installation it is necessary to use new nuts.
8. Supporting the driveshaft, unscrew bolts of fastening of an arm of the central bearing. Move a back part of the driveshaft forward and disconnect the driveshaft from a flange of reverse main gear. Disconnect a forward part of the driveshaft from a target flange of a transmission and remove the driveshaft.
Prevention

If the power shaft understands, previously put combination labels on both parts of the driveshaft. It is necessary for the correct assembly of the driveshaft, otherwise will be broken balance weights a shaft that will cause emergence of vibration and additional noise at movement. On some models already there are the labels of combination put on both parts of the driveshaft. The label on a forward part of the driveshaft should be established in the middle of labels on the universal hinge (see fig. An arrangement of labels of combination on both parts of a power shaft).


9. Check a condition of rubber elastic couplings of the central bearing and the universal hinge.

Installation

Tightening of nuts of fastening of the coupling of the driveshaft to a transmission flange

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On models with the plug of a shaft located on a transmission, and the end of a shaft executed from bronze, grease the plug with lubricant on the basis of a molybdenum disulfide. If the plug изготовле on not from bronze, use универсаль ny greasing.
2. Establish the driveshaft into place, thus combine labels on elastic couplings of the driveshaft with labels on a target flange of a transmission and a flange of reverse main gear. Fix an arm of the central bearing bolts, without tightening them it is final.
3. Check combination of labels, then insert bolts of fastening of the elastic coupling of the driveshaft to reverse main gear and screw new nuts, having tightened them the demanded moment.
4. Check combination of labels, then insert bolts of fastening of the elastic coupling of the driveshaft to a target flange of a transmission, screw on them new nuts and tighten the demanded moment (see fig. A tightening of nuts of fastening of the coupling of the driveshaft to a transmission flange).
5. Tighten bolts of fastening of an arm of the central bearing the demanded moment.
6. Check that the protective rubber cover of the driveshaft is correctly established and tighten a nut of the shlitsevy coupling the demanded moment.
7. Establish an arm of fastening of a back part of a transmission and tighten a nut and bolts the demanded moment.
8. Establish the thermofilter of an exhaust system and arms, then lower the car.
