22.13. Vacuum amplifier of brakes

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Press a brake pedal several times at the idle engine to create in cavities of the vacuum amplifier the identical pressure close to the atmospheric. At the same time on the effort enclosed to a pedal, define, whether there is no jamming of the case of the valve. Stop brake loops in the middle of its course and start the engine. At the serviceable vacuum amplifier the brake pedal after start of the engine should leave forward. If the pedal does not leave forward, check fastening of a tip of a hose, connection of fastening of a flange of a tip in the amplifier, a hose and union condition. On cars with diesel engines check operability of the vacuum pump.

Removal


Prevention

At installation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes it is necessary to use new nuts of fastening.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the main brake cylinder.
2. Unscrew a connecting nut and disconnect a vacuum hose from the vacuum amplifier of brakes.
3. Remove furnish of the lower part of the dashboard from the driver.
4. Remove a spring bracket and take a pin, fixing a brake pedal to a pusher of the vacuum amplifier of brakes.
5. In salon of the car unscrew four nuts of fastening and take the vacuum amplifier of brakes from a motor compartment.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before installation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes check a laying condition on a back part of the vacuum amplifier. If laying is damaged, replace it.
2. Establish the vacuum amplifier of brakes on a partition of a motor compartment.
3. Working in car salon, check that the tip of a pusher of the vacuum amplifier of brakes was combined with an opening in a brake pedal. Screw up four nuts of fastening of the vacuum amplifier of brakes and tighten them the demanded moment.
4. Grease a pin of fastening of a tip of the vacuum amplifier of brakes to a brake pedal, insert it on a place and fix a fastening bracket.
5. Establish the bottom furnish of the dashboard from the driver.
6. Connect a vacuum hose to the vacuum amplifier of brakes and fix a connecting nut, having tightened it the demanded moment.
7. Establish the main brake cylinder. Start the engine and check tightness of the vacuum amplifier of brakes and hoses.
