GENERAL INFORMATION

Corners of installation of wheels considerably influence stability of the car, wear of tires and fuel consumption. Distinguish the following corners of installation of wheels.

Disorder is an inclination of a wheel in the vertical plane relatively the average line of the car. It can be positive if wheels are inclined outside and negative if wheels are inclined inside. The disorder corner generally influences uniformity of wear of tires of forward wheels. If disorder of one wheel positive, and another - negative, withdraws the car aside at movement on a straight line.

The corner of disorder of forward wheels is regulated after weakening of a forward sharnirny bolt of fastening of the bottom lever of a forward suspension bracket at the expense of change of provision of ekstsentrikovy washers. Disorder of back wheels is not regulated.

The convergence is a lateral distance between wheels. The positive convergence means that wheels are in front located more closely to each other, than behind at measurement at height of an average point of a wheel. The negative convergence means that wheels in front are at bigger distance from each other, than behind.

The convergence of forward wheels is regulated by a vvinchivaniye or a vyvinchivaniye of cross-section steering draft in spherical hinges therefore the length of cross-section steering draft changes.

The convergence of back wheels also is regulated. Adjustment can be made, weakening and turning an internal sharnirny bolt of the directing lever of a back suspension bracket.

Check and adjustment of corners of installation of wheels is necessary for making at service station in connection with complexity of the used equipment.

The cross-section inclination of an axis of turn of a wheel is a corner between an axis of an inclination of a rotary fist and a vertical, carried out through a point of fastening of a wheel, looking in the longitudinal direction of the car.

At the expense of corners of disorder and a cross-section inclination of an axis of turn of a point of a contact of wheels with the road settle down closer to an axis of a rotary fist. It supports a so-called shoulder of a running in. The running in shoulder less, the driving is easier. Also blows from roughness of a covering are less transferred to a steering.

Corner of a longitudinal inclination of an axis of turn. The axis concerning which there is a wheel turn, takes place in space so that its lower part is inclined forward. Such corner of a longitudinal inclination is called as positive. At positive value of a corner self-return of wheels to average situation after turn improves.

The corner of a longitudinal inclination of a forward wheel is regulated after easing and turn of a sharnirny bolt of back fastening of the bottom lever of a forward suspension bracket. The longitudinal tilt angle of a back wheel is not regulated.
