23.6. Shock-absorber of a forward suspension bracket

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Tighten the parking brake, then lift a forward part of the car and fix on supports. Remove the corresponding forward wheel.
2. Establish under the bottom lever of a forward suspension bracket a jack with wooden whetstone and support the lever at removal of a rotary fist.
3. Unscrew two bolts, fixing the lower part of the shock-absorber to a rotary fist. Unscrew a nut and take the top bolt of fastening of the lower part of the shock-absorber to a rotary fist.
4. In a motor compartment unscrew nuts of fastening of the top part of a forward rack, then, being careful, take a rack from under a wing arch.

Repair

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clear a rack of a forward suspension bracket of pollution and fix it in a vice with soft sponges.
2. In the top part of a forward rack unscrew a nut, a fixing assembly plate. Thus hold a shock-absorber rod from a provorachivaniye, using a face key.
3. Remove from a rack an assembly plate and the top support of the shock-absorber.
4. From a rod of the shock-absorber remove the rubber buffer, then release fastening and remove from the shock-absorber a dustproof cover.
5. Check the shock-absorber on signs of leakages of amortization liquid. Check on all length a shock-absorber rod on absence of dot corrosion. Check the shock-absorber case on absence of mechanical damages. Establish the shock-absorber in vertical situation and check its work, moving a shock-absorber rod at full capacity. Also check operation of the shock-absorber, moving a shock-absorber rod up and down on distance of 50-100 mm. In all cases the rod of the shock-absorber should move smoothly with notable resistance. If the rod of the shock-absorber moves with breakthroughs or there are mechanical damages, the shock-absorber is subject to replacement.
6. Establish on the shock-absorber a dustproof cover and reliably fix it.
7. Establish on a shock-absorber rod the rubber buffer and the top support.
8. Establish the top assembly plate and a washer and screw on a shock-absorber rod a new nut. Having fixed a shock-absorber rod from a provorachivaniye, tighten a nut of fastening of an assembly plate the demanded moment.
9. Establish the top part of a dustproof cover on a fillet in the basis of the top support.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Using the corresponding tap, clear carving openings in a rotary fist under the bottom bolts of fastening of the shock-absorber. Establish the shock-absorber on a place and screw new nuts of fastening of the top support of the shock-absorber.
2. Combine a rotary fist with the shock-absorber, thus the ledge of a rotary fist should be established in an opening.
3. Insert the top bolt of fastening of a rotary fist to the shock-absorber and screw on it a new nut. Partially screw in two new bolts of fastening of the lower part of the shock-absorber to a rotary fist. Press a rotary fist so that it was combined with the shock-absorber and in this situation tighten the top nut of fastening of the shock-absorber, and then two bottom bolts.
4. Remove a jack supporting the bottom lever of a forward suspension bracket, then tighten the demanded moment of a nut of fastening of the top support of the shock-absorber.
