23.7. Spring of a forward suspension bracket

Removal


Prevention

At removal of a spring of a forward suspension bracket it is necessary to use the special tool, capable to compress and hold in the compressed condition a spring of a forward suspension bracket in the course of removal. Spring removal without the special tool for compression of a spring can lead to traumas.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Tighten the parking brake, then lift a forward part of the car and fix on supports. Remove the corresponding forward wheel.
2. Using the special adaptation, compress a spring so that it departed from the top basic plate. When using the special tool for compression of springs watch, that rounds of a spring were reliably grasped, and compression of a spring make from the opposite sides. The spring has very big effort of compression therefore use only very reliable tool. At all do not connect a spring a wire.
3. A jack through wooden whetstone support the bottom lever of a forward suspension bracket.
4. Unscrew the nuts, fixing the top support of the shock-absorber to a car body.
5. Being careful, a jack lower the bottom lever of a forward suspension bracket so that it was possible to take a cylindrical spring with the top basic cup.
6. Check a condition of a cylindrical spring and the top basic plate on signs of wear, damages and corrosion and, if necessary, replace them.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clear the bottom basic cup of a spring, then establish on a spring the top basic plate and insert a spring into place.
2. Turn a cylindrical spring so that its bottom end correctly settled down in the bottom nest of a spring. Establish the top basic cup of a spring under fastening and, being careful, a jack lift the bottom lever in such situation that the top support of the shock-absorber was established into place.
3. Check correctness of an arrangement of a spring, then screw new nuts of fastening of the top support of the shock-absorber and tighten them the demanded moment.
4. Take a jack from under the bottom lever of a forward suspension bracket, then, being careful, release the adaptation for compression of a spring and repeatedly check that the spring is correctly placed in nests.
5. Establish a wheel, then lower the car on the earth and tighten bolts of fastening of a wheel the demanded moment.
