24.10. Cable of opening of the lock of a cowl

Removal

Removal of a protective casing of the lock of a cowl

Disconnect a cable of opening of a cowl from a reverse side of the lock of a cowl

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Open a cowl.
2. Unscrew the screw and remove the handle of opening of a cowl from the dashboard. Disconnect the handle from a cable of opening of a cowl and adhere to a cable a thin strong cord.
3. Working in a motor compartment, note an arrangement of a cable and take it from fastening brackets.
4. Release brackets of fastening and remove a protective casing from under the cowl lock (see fig. Removal of a protective casing of the lock of a cowl).
5. Remove a cover of a cable of opening of a cowl from a fixing arm, then disconnect a cable from the cowl lock (see fig. Disconnect a cable of opening of a cowl from a reverse side of the lock of a cowl).
6. Remove from a partition of a motor compartment a rubber condensing ring and take a cable of opening of a cowl in a motor compartment. When from a partition of a motor compartment there will be a cord, untie it from a cable and leave in a partition.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. For installation of a cable adhere to a cable a cord and for a cord involve in car salon a cable of opening of the lock of a cowl. Before closing of a cowl pull for the handle of opening of a cowl and ask the assistant to check, how easily and freely the lock latch moves.
