25.5. Safety locks and relay

Fuses

Removal of the spring bracket, fixing a cover of the block of safety locks and the relay

Information on safety locks is available on inside of a cover of the block of safety locks and the relay

Fuses are placed in the block of safety locks and the relay located in a back part of a motor compartment. On some models the additional fuses placed in the additional block of safety locks which is located behind the main block of safety locks are established.

For access to safety locks disconnect a spring bracket and uncover the block of safety locks and the relay (see fig. Removal of the spring bracket, fixing a cover of the block of safety locks and the relay).

The arrangement of safety locks and the electric chains protected by safety locks, are given in a sticker located from the inside on a cover of the block of safety locks and the relay.

Before removal of a safety lock switch off ignitions. To remove a safety lock, use tweezers for safety lock extraction from the socket. Get a safety lock from tweezers. The wire in a safety lock is easily appreciable and will be broken off, if the safety lock fused.

Always replace a safety lock with other safety lock of the same capacity. Each safety lock has an inscription about size of a protected current. Never replace a safety lock more than once, without having defined the reason of its peregoraniye.

Relays are placed in the block of safety locks and the relay located in a back part of a motor compartment. For access to the relay disconnect a spring bracket and uncover the block of fuses, then unscrew screws and uncover the relay block (see fig. The relay is elektronno the operated switch which is usually used as follows:

– the relay can switch big currents distantly from a chain in which this current flows, allowing to use thinner wires and contacts of switches;
– the relay can have more than one managing director of an entrance, unlike the mechanical switch;
- the relay can carry out timer function, for example, to set an interval of work of screen wipers.

If the system operated by the relay, fails, and a cause of defect, probably, the relay is, listen to operation of the relay at the included system. If the relay regularly works, you should hear click at its inclusion. If the relay is serviceable, the cause of defect is concluded in elements or connecting wires. If the relay does not work, it means that it does not receive the main power supply either an operating impulse, or the relay is faulty.

For replacement of the relay switch off ignitions and, having simply pulled the relay, take it from a nest and insert on its place new.
