2.4.1. Replacement of oil and oil filter

GENERAL INFORMATION

Periodic replacement of oil and the oil filter – the most important preventive operations of maintenance. When engine oil grows old, it becomes liquid and polluted that conducts to premature wear of the engine.

Before the beginning of this operation gather all necessary tools and materials. It is necessary, that the engine was warm in order that oil flew down together with bulk of the substances which have polluted it better.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift the car so that the stopper for oil plum from the engine was in the lowermost point.
2. The casing of the oil filter is located in the left back corner of a motor compartment behind a final collector.
3. At existence remove a bracket of fastening or unscrew the screw and remove rubber consolidation from the top part of a partition of a motor compartment for improvement of access to a casing of the oil filter (see fig. An arrangement of a bracket (1) fastening of a sealant to a box of a motor compartment).
4. On models with the pipeline of return of the oil, fastening to the center of a cover of a casing of the oil filter, unscrew the pipeline of return of oil and remove it from a cover (see fig. Arrangement of the pipeline of return of oil).
5. Unscrew two nuts and uncover a casing of the oil filter (see fig. Arrangement of nuts of fastening of a cover of the oil filter).
6. Weaken a drain stopper approximately on a turn half. Place the container for oil plum under a drain stopper and unscrew a stopper completely. If it is necessary, press a stopper when unscrew that oil did not proceed prematurely. Remove ring consolidation from a masloslivny stopper (see fig. A stopper arrangement oil plum from the engine).
7. When oil completely will flow down, wipe everything round a drain opening a rag and reliably screw up a stopper into place.
8. Remove all tools from under the car and lower the car.
9. Take filtering element from a casing of the oil filter (see fig. Extraction of a filtering element from a casing of the oil filter).
10. Wipe a casing and a cover of the oil filter. Check passableness of the pipeline of return of oil. The pipeline should be blown freely. If necessary clear a small opening at the pipeline basis (see fig. An opening at the basis of the pipeline of return of oil).
11. Establish a new sealing ring of round section on a cover of the oil filter (see fig. Installation of a new sealing ring of round section on a cover of the oil filter).
12. Establish a new filtering element of the oil filter in a casing and a cover and fix bolts, having tightened them the demanded moment.
13. Establish a new sealing ring of round section to the top part of a returnable oil pipeline, then establish a pipe of return of oil.
14. Take щуп for measurement of level of oil and remove a stopper from a maslozalivny mouth. Fill in oil in the engine, using the corresponding grade of oil. Fill in a half of necessary amount of oil and wait some minutes that oil flew down in the pallet. Then continue to pour oil in the small portions while level of oil will not reach a minimum level on щупе. At addition about 1 more liter level of oil will rise to maximum on щупе. Insert щуп for measurement of level of oil and close a cover of a maslozalivny mouth.
15. Start the engine and let's to it work some minutes. Check it about leakages of oil round the filter and a drain stopper on the oil pallet. Keep in mind that the emergency bulb of pressure of oil can burn some seconds as oil should fill all channels and oil capacities in the engine.
16. Switch off the engine and wait some minutes that oil flew down in the pallet. Check level of oil and add, if it is necessary.
