3.10.2.2. Asterisk of a cranked shaft

Removal

Removal the coupling of a drive of the oil pump from a cranked shaft
 

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Uncover a driving chain.
2. Using paint, put a combination label on an asterisk of a cranked shaft and a link of a driving chain.
3. Remove a camshaft asterisk.
4. On later engines remove a boot of the mechanism of a tension of a driving chain in order that it was possible to remove a chain from an asterisk of a cranked shaft.
5. Remove the coupling of a drive of the oil pump from the forward end of a cranked shaft (see drawing).
6. Remove a driving chain from an asterisk of a cranked shaft.
7. Using a stripper, remove an asterisk from the forward end of a cranked shaft.
8. At existence remove a segment shponka.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check a condition of teeths on an asterisk. Teeths on an asterisk have a symmetric form and in the presence of development on teeths it is necessary to replace an asterisk.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish in a groove of a cranked shaft a segment shponka.
2. At installation of a new asterisk of a cranked shaft put on it a label on the same place, as on an old asterisk.
3. Combine a groove on an asterisk with a segment shponka and establish an asterisk on a cranked shaft. At installation of an asterisk it is possible to use a tubular opravka and a hammer.
4. Establish the coupling of a drive of the oil pump.
5. Dress a driving chain on an asterisk of a cranked shaft according to earlier put labels.
6. At existence establish a boot of the mechanism of a tension of a driving chain.
7. Establish a camshaft asterisk.
8. Establish a cover of a driving chain.
