PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish the piston of the first cylinder in VMT and check that all adjusting labels are combined with indexes.
2. Remove an asterisk of the cranked shaft operating final valves.
3. Remove a driving chain from an asterisk of the camshaft operating inlet valves and, using a wire, fix a chain from falling.
4. Check marking existence on covers of bearings of a camshaft and, at absence, put it. Covers of bearings of the camshaft operating final valves, are numbered from 1 to 7 from a driving chain (see fig. A marking arrangement on a cover of the bearing of a camshaft), and covers of bearings of the camshaft operating inlet valves are numbered by figures from 8 to 14 from a driving chain.
5. Gradually and consistently unscrew bolts of fastening of covers of bearings 1, 4, 6 and 7 of the camshaft operating final valves and covers 8, 9, 12 and the 14th camshaft operating inlet valves (see fig. An arrangement of covers of bearings of camshafts which are necessary for unscrewing and removing first of all). Remove covers.
6. Gradually and consistently on one turn for each pass unscrew bolts of fastening of the remained covers of bearings of a camshaft. Remove covers.
7. On engines of 3,0 l remove persistent half rings about covers of bearings 1, 8, 4 and 11 (see fig. Arrangement of persistent half rings).
8. Remove camshafts from a head of the block of cylinders.
9. From nests in a head of the block of cylinders take hydraulic pushers of valves. Arrange hydraulic pushers in the container with pure engine oil in vertical situation so that it was possible to establish them on the places (see fig. Extraction of hydraulic pushers from a head of the block of cylinders).

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check working surfaces of bearings of a camshaft and contours of cams on wear signs. In the presence of any wear the camshaft is subject to replacement.
2. Check a condition of hydraulic pushers and nests for pushers in a head of the block of cylinders. In the presence of wear on nests for pushers the head of the block of cylinders is subject to replacement.

Installation

Arrangement of covers of bearings of camshafts which it is necessary to establish first of all

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Grease hydraulic pushers with pure engine oil and insert each pusher on the place in a head of the block of cylinders.
2. Grease necks and cams of camshafts with pure engine oil and establish camshafts in a head of the block of cylinders.
3. Turn camshafts in such situation that cams of the No. cylinder 2 camshafts operating final valves, and cams of the No. cylinder 3 camshafts operating inlet valves, were directed down. Thus adjusting openings on flanges of camshafts should be combined with the top plane of a head of the block of cylinders.
4. On engines of 3,0 l establish persistent half rings on bearings 1, 8, 4 and 11.
5. Grease working surfaces of bearings in covers of bearings of a camshaft, then establish covers 2, 3 and the 5th camshaft operating final valves, and a cover 10, 11 and the 13th camshaft operating inlet valves, and establish in covers bolts (see fig. An arrangement of covers of bearings of camshafts which it is necessary to establish first of all).
6. Tighten bolts of fastening of covers of bearings of a camshaft a hand, then on a spiral from the center to edge tighten fastening bolts, turning each bolt on a turn half for one pass until each cover will not concern a head of the block of cylinders. Then in the same sequence tighten bolts the demanded moment in some stages.
7. Establish the remained covers of bearings of camshafts and similarly tighten them the demanded moment.
8. Establish a driving chain on an asterisk of the camshaft operating inlet valves, according to earlier made labels.
9. Establish an asterisk of the camshaft operating final valves.
10. Check a starting position of camshafts.
