The label of orientation to the bottom of the piston should be directed to a driving chain.

Removal of the bottom cover of a rod

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On 4-cylinder petrol engines remove a head of the block of cylinders and the oil pallet.
2. On 6-cylinder petrol SOHC engines remove a head of the block of cylinders, the oil pallet and the oil pump.
3. On 6-cylinder petrol DOHC engines remove a head of the block of cylinders, the oil pallet, the oil pump and a masloulavlivayushchy plate.
4. On diesel engines remove a head of the block of cylinders, the oil pallet, the oil pump and a masloulavlivayushchy plate.
5. On all models if there is a deposit in the top part of the cylinder, remove it with a scraper from a soft material. Step existence in the top part of the cylinder testifies to excessive wear of the cylinder and need of boring of cylinders of the engine.
6. Check marking existence on rods and covers of rods. Marking settles down from an inlet collector (see fig. Arrangement of marking of a rod and bottom cover of a rod). In the absence of marking, using a hammer and a center punch or paint, note the provision of a rod and the bottom cover of a rod.
7. Check existence of labels of orientation to the piston bottom. The arrow should be directed on the bottom of the piston in a driving chain (see fig. Label of orientation to the piston bottom). Often the label of orientation is not visible because of deposit presence therefore the bottom of the piston is necessary for clearing previously. In the absence of a label of orientation to the piston bottom, using a chertilka, put it.
8. Turn a cranked shaft of the engine in such situation that pistons 1 and 4 (4-cylinder engines), 1 (5-cylinder engines), or 1 and 6 (6-cylinder engines) were established in the bottom dead point.
9. Unscrew bolts of fastening of a cover of the bottom head of a rod of the first cylinder and remove the bottom cover of a rod (see fig. Removal of the bottom cover of a rod).
10. Using the hammer handle, вытолкните the piston up the block of cylinders also take it from the block of cylinders.
11. On the bottom head of a rod establish a cover of a rod and screw bolts that will allow to keep them in a set and not to mix in places.
12. Similarly remove the piston of the fourth cylinder (4-cylinder engines) or the piston of the sixth cylinder (six-cylinder engines).
13. Turn a cranked shaft for installation of other pistons in the bottom dead point and similarly remove pistons.
