7.18. Installation of a cranked shaftChoice of radical loose leaves of a cranked shaft FOUR-CYLINDER PETROL ENGINES For determination of the demanded thickness of new radical loose leaves it is necessary to measure internal diameter of the radical bearing, diameter of a radical neck of a cranked shaft and to consider a working gap of the bearing. The demanded thickness of the bearing can be calculated as follows. Example Diameter of the bearing of 62,51 mm As spare parts loose leaves of radical bearings of the next thickness are delivered.
SIX-CYLINDER PETROL SOHC ENGINES The thickness of loose leaves of radical bearings is defined in the same way, as well as for 4-cylinder petrol engines. For determination of the demanded size of loose leaves it is necessary to consult at the dealer of Mercedes-Benz. SIX-CYLINDER PETROL DOHC ENGINES For determination of the demanded thickness of new radical loose leaves it is necessary to measure internal diameter of the radical bearing, diameter of a radical neck of a cranked shaft and to consider a working gap of the bearing. The demanded thickness of the bearing can be calculated as follows. Example Diameter of the bearing of 62,51 mm If it is necessary to use the top and bottom radical loose leaves of various thickness, it is necessary to establish thicker loose leaf in a cover of the radical bearing. The demanded thickness of the loose leaf of the radical bearing determine by the table after consultation of the dealer of Mercedes-Benz. DIESEL ENGINES Loose leaves of radical bearings have color marking. Loose leaves of three various thickness with color marking of dark blue, yellow and red color are used. The cranked shaft of the engine also has the color marking put on cheeks of a cranked shaft or on противове of Sakha behind necks of a cranked shaft. On the block of cylinders also there are labels in the form of points. The thickness of the loose leaf of the radical bearing gets out on crossing of the vertical and horizontal line.
Also it is possible to determine thickness of loose leaves of radical bearings of a cranked shaft by a method used for 4-cylinder petrol engines. The table for a choice of loose leaves of radical bearings for 6-cylinder petrol DOHC engines
