7.21.3. Installation of pistons with rods

GENERAL INFORMATION

Loose leaf installation in a rod cover

Ledge under the piston bottom on 6-cylinder petrol DOHC engines
On 6-cylinder petrol DOHC engines the ledge under the bottom of the piston should settle down from a flywheel.

Piston installation in the cylinder with use of wooden whetstone or the hammer handle

Tightening of bolts of fastening of a cover of the bottom head of a rod, dovorachivy them on a certain corner

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clear a back part of the shatunny loose leaf and a place of its installation in rods and covers of rods. Establish loose leaves in rods and covers of rods (see fig. Loose leaf installation in a rod cover).
2. Grease pistons and piston rings and place locks of piston rings according to requirements.
3. Installation of pistons is necessary for beginning with the first cylinder. Compress piston rings on the piston the special adaptation for compression of piston rings.
4. Insert the piston with the adaptation compressing rings, into the top part of the first cylinder. Thus the arrow should be directed on the bottom of the piston towards a driving chain, and labels on rods and covers of rods were in the same situation, as before removal (see fig. A ledge under the piston bottom on 6-cylinder petrol DOHC engines). Using wooden whetstone or the hammer handle, press on the piston and press it into the cylinder.
5. Check combination of the bottom head of a rod with a neck of a cranked shaft. If necessary tighten the piston a rod and establish the bottom head of a rod with the loose leaf on a neck of a cranked shaft. Screw up bolts of fastening of a cover of a rod the demanded moment.
6. Similarly establish other pistons with rods.
7. Further installation is made in sequence, return to removal taking into account the next moments.
8. On 4-cylinder petrol engines establish the oil pallet and a head of the block of cylinders.
9. On 6-cylinder petrol SOHC engines establish the oil pump, the oil pallet and a head of the block of cylinders.
10. On 6-cylinder petrol DOHC engines establish the oil pump, a masloulavlivayushchy plate, the oil pallet and a head of the block of cylinders.
11. On diesel engines establish the oil pump, a masloulavlivayushchy plate, the oil pallet and a head of the block of cylinders.
