9.3. The air filter and a filtering element

Removal

Weakening of the collar, fixing a pipe of supply of air on the carburetor

Weakening of the collar, fixing a pipe of supply of air on a casing of the air filter

Removal of a pipe of supply of air from the air filter to the carburetor

Unscrewing of nuts of fastening of a cover of the air filter

Release of brackets of fastening of a cover of the air filter


Removal of a filtering element of the air filter

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove an air inlet branch pipe from a casing of the air filter.
2. Remove a branch pipe of supply of warm air from the basis of a regulator of temperature of air arriving in the engine.
3. On models with the STROMBERG carburetor weaken collars and remove a pipe connecting the air filter and the carburetor (see fig. Weakening of the collar, fixing a pipe of supply of air on the carburetor, Weakening of the collar, fixing a pipe of supply of air on a casing of the air filter, Removal of a pipe of supply of air from the air filter to the carburetor).
4. On models with the PIERBURG carburetor unscrew a nut, a fixing pipe of supply of air to a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
5. Remove a hose of ventilation of a case from a branch pipe in the lower part of a casing of the air filter.
6. Disconnect fastening brackets, unscrew nuts and uncover the air filter. Take filtering element. Unscrew nuts and screws and remove a casing of the air filter (see fig. Unscrewing of nuts of fastening of a cover of the air filter, Removal of a filtering element of the air filter). On models with the PIERBURG carburetor remove rubber consolidation.
7. On later models with STROMBERG carburetors and the air filter with external brackets unscrew nuts and take the lower part of the air filter from brackets.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Check that the filtering element is established according to the labels put on a filtering element.
